We have enjoyed a brilliant start to the academic year, catching up with friends, making new ones and getting stuck into exciting topics and routines.
We can't wait to see what Michaelmas Term has in store for us!
The traditional first week Year 7 Camp Out took place last Friday, marking a joyful beginning to the new academic year. While we didn’t bask in a heatwave, it remained dry and didn’t get too cold as night time set in.
This annual event is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to reconnect after the summer break and begin forging new friendships. The lower pitches provided just enough dry ground for a lively game of football, while the hard work of tent-pitching was generously taken on by parents—thank you!
After eating delicious pizzas and fizzy drinks we took a scenic stroll to the top of the Warren. As dusk settled, everyone enjoyed a game of spin the bottle and some braved the ever-popular Man Hunt in the dark—thankfully, no one spotted the elusive Otford Panther lurking in the woods!
After some final sweets and a hot chocolate, Year 7 settled down into their tents. I’m not sure how much sleep happened in the ‘sleep-over’ and I am sure that lots of napping happened once pupils got home the following day. It was a pleasure to spend the evening and night with such a spirited and respectful group.
A huge thank you to Mrs Small, Mrs Andrade, Mr Fishwick and Mr Sawyer for helping to make this a memorable evening.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead for our new senior pupils!
Mrs Shield, Head of Years 7 and 8
Year 2 were treated to an exciting visit from The Animal Experiene on Wednesday morning. They got to meet, hold and even cuddle a selection of animals ranging from reptiles to mammals to birds!
