On Friday 11th September, St Michael's U9 boys' football team travelled to Sevenoaks School to compete in the U9 Futsal Tournament.

In their opening match against Russell House, the boys hit the ground running with an emphatic 7-0 victory. Lucas and Rupert both scored hat-tricks, while Ruben added another goal to complete a dominant performance.

Their next fixture was against Somerhill. Despite falling 1-0 behind early on, the boys showed great resilience and determination to turn the game around and secure an impressive 4-1 win.

The third game saw them face Alleyn's School. Once again, the boys were fantastic, recording a convincing 6-0 victory. Lucas was on excellent form, scoring four goals, while Rupert and Ruben each added one of their own.

Going into the final match against Solefield, the boys knew that a win would guarantee them the tournament title. They rose to the occasion brilliantly, producing another excellent performance to win 5-0. Lucas scored a hat-trick, with Ruben and Rupert once again finding the back of the net.

The boys finished the tournament as worthy overall winners and should be immensely proud of the way they played and conducted themselves throughout the day. Their teamwork, determination and sportsmanship were a credit to the school.

A special congratulations must also go to Rupert D who was deservedly recognised as one of the Players of the Tournament.
