Year 2 had an unforgettable visit from The Animal Experience this week. The children met an amazing range of animals including a blue-tongued skink, tenrec, chinchilla, meerkat, milk snake, tortoise, royal python and a bearded dragon. As part of the session, the children learned fascinating facts about each animal, discovering where they live, how they are adapted to their habitats and what makes them unique. The visit linked perfectly with our current English text, Meerkat Mail and the children were thrilled to meet a real-life meerkat!

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to hold or stroke the animals. We were so impressed by the children's bravery and curiosity, with many eagerly volunteering to get up close to the creatures. A few particularly courageous children even had the chance to wear the snake around their necks! It was a fantastic educational experience that brought learning to life. The children left buzzing with excitement and full of new knowledge. We have a feeling there may be quite a few requests for pet chinchillas this weekend!
