House Music (1)St Michael's Prep was delighted to welcome esteemed musician Hannah I'Anson to judge our House Music Competition on Friday 1st March.

Hannah, who is a member of the Royal Air Force band, enjoyed a showcase of St Michael's soloists and ensembles throughout the day, providing valuable feedback to the children and sharing her anecdotes of performing for prestigious events including Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee and His Majesty King Charles III's Coronation. Commenting on her involvement in St Michael's event, Hannah said: "I am so impressed with the range of instrumental and vocal talent on display at St Michael's and how well the soloists performed."

The afternoon saw every pupil in Years 3 to 8 perform with their teachers as part of one of our four houses: Leeds, Rochester, Dover and Windsor. The electric atmosphere, which saw teams perform Beatles favourites, was heightened by vibrant costumes, exciting choreography and singing which raised St Michael's roof.

Reflecting on the success of the event, St Michael's Director of Music, Mr Baird said: "The pupils were a credit in terms of their support for one another, the way in which they performed for their peers, listened attentively as an audience and celebrated the achievements of those who won awards. We had a wonderful and memorable day of music-making and the event was a true celebration of everything that makes St Michael’s such a joyful place to be."
