BackYear 1 children enjoy vibrant lessons as part of the National Curriculum where learning builds upon the strong foundations put in place by St Michael’s Prep’s Reception Team.
Year 1 discover new subjects in a fun and exciting way. With topics such as ‘Ourselves’, ‘Houses and Homes’ and ‘Knights and Castles’, the children become detectives, exploring the world around them in many ways.
The curriculum incorporates areas including Maths, English, French, Science, Computing, Topic, PSHE, Music, Physical Development and Forest School.
Our wonderful outside area and vast grounds lend themselves to exploration within the children’s immediate environment.
Their learning is also enriched by trips every term to engaging locations including Knole House and Deer Park, Shoreham and Leeds Castle.
