The Hive

At St Michael’s Prep School, we understand how difficult it can be to tie in school hours with work and other commitments, so we are delighted to offer our families a Breakfast Club and After School Care Club.

The clubs are run by qualified and experienced members of St Michael’s Prep staff and your children are looked after in a safe and secure environment where they are able to socialise with friends and share in a wide variety of activities, exploring, creating and discussing.

We welcome any child from Reception to Year 8.

7.30 – 8.00am Reception to Year 8

The Breakfast Club menu includes a selection of cereals, toast, bread, fruit and a drink.  Prep children will be walked to their building by a member of staff at 8.00am and will join their friends on the playground.

Up to 7.00pm Reception to Year 8

At the end of the school day, children taking part in our After School Club will be accompanied by a member of staff to The Hive, located in the Pre-Prep building.  Pre-Prep children join the Club from 4.00pm when their activities finish; Prep School children are accompanied to The Hive after their activities finish at 5.00pm.

High tea, served from 4.40 for Pre-Prep children and from 5.30pm for Prep children, is available on request and should be pre-booked.  It includes a selection of sandwiches, hot snacks, fruit, biscuits or cereal bars and crisps.

After School Care has a themed activity each term in which children can participate. General activities will also include board games, arts and crafts and quizzes.  Children in the club will have fun exploring, creating and socialising and if they have homework, there is an area where they can focus on study.  A computer is available  to help them with their homework.

Relaxation is important: we will provide ample opportunities for your children to relax after their busy day and they will be able to play with their friends, siblings and children across all age groups.

Priority for places will be given to families who have booked for a whole term.

Refunds are not given in the event of non-attendance.
