Congratulations to Year 5 pupil, T Bax, who has been highly commended for a poem she wrote for National Poetry Day in association with Love Reading (click here to see their website)

Mrs Bax told us “We are so proud of her poem and also her commendation!”

We love her poem too!

The Truth About School

School is like a rushing river,
With its highs, it’s lows, it’s bends and friends
It’s good then it’s bad, it’s happy then it’s sad
It’s all part of the rhythm.
There are bumpy parts
With rocks and pebbles traveling their own way
There are calm pools
Where it’s easy to flow free and just be me.
With the white water rapids as my tests of talent
And the waterfalls
With their strength and power
Running fiercely, hour after hour.
Eventually, we will reach the ocean
The next chapter of our education
With friends, knowledge and celebrations
We set forth to our new destinations.

  • My son began his journey at St Michael's last Friday in the Nursery class and, one week on, I have to write to say how impressed I am and how thrilled we are with our decision to send him to such an amazing school. The approach to settling them in has been perfect!

  • St Michael’s is a wonderful school. Fantastic teachers, a nurturing environment. It has suited our three children who are all very different in their academic and pastoral needs. Thank you.

  • St Michael's is a place where I can let my imagination run wild.

  • We were struck by the warmth and kindness of everyone we met; pupils as well as staff. We believe in giving our son the right start and instilling in him the joy of learning and satisfaction from achievement. We can see this happening at St Michael’s

    Prospective Parent
  • My daughter has had such a wonderful school life at St.Michael’s. We really couldn’t have asked for a better school for her in terms of academic life, extra-curricular activities and friendship groups. We still can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by and that she will soon be leaving!
