11+ Results

At St Michael’s the option to take the 11+ test is open to every child in Year 6. Parents are advised in Year 5 about the likelihood of their child passing the test but we will support the decision of family as to whether or not the child is entered. You will note that the average CAT score of 11+ applicants that passed the test in our most recent cohort was 120. This is a helpful indicator in our discussion around the test although it does not define the outcome of the result.

The range of schools that our children aspire to affects who sits the 11+ examination. The cohort of children taking the test each year varies; on some occasions our ablest academic children choose not to take the test if they are applying to independent senior schools only.
