Years 7 & 8

Life in Years 7 and 8 at St Michael’s is not simply about academic study. Children in the senior years are encouraged to develop a range of abilities, to become more self-reliant and independent, develop leadership skills and roles of responsibility, and mature at their own pace in the friendly and supportive environment that we offer.

Common Entrance underpins our teaching, while our aim is to encourage individuality and instil confidence, creativity and independence in our students. To quote George Bernard Shaw, “What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child.”

We would be delighted to welcome your child into Years 7 and 8 at St Michael’s. We will work with you to help your child progress during these two precious years and then send them on to the senior school most suited to them.
